Amy Sillman

For those who live under a rock, Amy Sillman has a new show up at
Sikkema Jenkins & Co. Video courtesy of James Kalm - it's the next
best thing to being there. Thank you James.

Interesting video. I like her work in the Saatchi Gallery, London.

Love the Kalm reports and Sillmans new work.

The images on the video are a bonus to the gallery's set, despite JKs characteristic shakiness. Still, it's no substitute for the real thing! For an Australian comparison I see a Brett Whitely - like quality (large expanses of space punctuated by sensual lines to denote legs or arms- scratchy or concealed in parts- and rich painterly surfaces) Except the difference between Sillman and Whitely is that Sillman does it much better!

...and being Australian, that's probably blasphemy.
