My website - finally!

I've finally completed my website. It's very simple and I only have a few works on display but it will be updated as time goes by. This is such a new thing for me. Even putting my name on a website gives me the horrors, let alone putting my work on display - but it needs to be done. Let me know what you think of the design or make some suggestions if you feel like it.

  1. That's a horror I know all too well... It looks great! My only suggestion would be putting a large image or two on the home page so it doesn't look too empty.

  2. Hey there, thanks for the comment. I think it's a bit empty too. Would you believe that I did *try* to put an image on the front page. It's a glitch I'm currently attending to. Nice to meet you (if 'meet' is the right word ;) )

  3. also...re: The Horror - as I referred to it - I think I have to get over it. Baby steps. Life is short. Talk is cheap. And other cliches.

  4. Ok....website technicalities aside

Undercover painter - now Inga - I LOVE YOUR WORK!
    The paintings are sumptuous!

I want to live with at least one of them. Have not had paint and colour speak to me this strongly in ages!

    More please! I'm a fan.

  6. Ok ...Finally had a chance to look at your website - What and absolute delight! We have to do something about getting your work out there in the world more - you are the real deal!! Come share my studio, or something. I agree with Sophie - your work is really speaking to me and I love your artist's statement and your works on paper and..and...everything! Don't be so shy and retiring - lesser souls are uot there taking the spot your rightly deserve!

  7. Thank you Ms Jones. I'm lost for words :)

As I said before, baby steps... at least for shy and retiring types ;)

So, where to start? I'll have to pick your brain.

  9. Hi VC. Thanks for commenting. I'm so glad you said that about the collages. They're my most favoured as they let me be a bit less precious - naughty, even. I never know if I should show people those so,'Unruly'I like it!

  10. The design of the website looks great...I'd only suggest that you watch the white balance when snapping off your shots. Most cameras have a white balance setting that you can adjust to your lighting. If you had the correct white balance, then the colors in your paintings would really pop and sizzle. Good luck because all that techie stuff is pain, I know, but your paintings are awesome! I LOVE YOUR STUFF!!!!

  11. Hi there, thanks for looking and commenting. Yes, the techie stuff is troublesome and I'm the first to admit that I'm a bit clueless. Thanks so much for that tip - I will investigate the white balance definitely. Cheers.

  12. Hi Inga, your works on paper are beautiful. Collages are very good and although they´re quite small they seem huge. I love the black and white works. More more more!

  13. You might want to look at French painter Claude Viallat, your beautiful collages remind me of some of his work.

  14. Wow, Sabine...thanks for drawing my attention to that artist. I have never heard of him until now nor did I know about the supports/surfaces movement in the late 60s. Thanks for your kind comments about my work too. People seem to respond positively to my collages and I'm glad because I love doing them! I have more but I just have to get some time to photograph them.
