Why don't you artists follow in the foodsteps of glorious Miró who wrote titles about 2 lines long to help the weary visitor overcome his gallery fatigue?

And Tapiès once stuck a piece of Heidegger text to his oeuvres. That was in Franco's time. I daresay he wouldn't do that anymore.anagastohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12173541768886884924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8367130508394867206.post-32193654070066396142010-07-05T08:09:39.775+10:002010-07-05T08:09:39.775+10:00Glad you all like it...it really gets to the heart...Glad you all like it...it really gets to the heart of painting as an authentic, relevant activity in the face of comparatively unimportant chatter about what's in, what's out; who's hot, who's not.undercover painterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12022877245114661027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8367130508394867206.post-51153970901678741072010-07-05T08:00:09.585+10:002010-07-05T08:00:09.585+10:00always a favorite, and I am surprised & deligh...always a favorite, and I am surprised & delighted by the fruitville works.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8367130508394867206.post-29223237452077669042010-07-05T01:26:18.230+10:002010-07-05T01:26:18.230+10:00Really good post, thank-you. The words from this artist really resonate with me and make me question how I think about my own adventures in painting.NSPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00901289730793047864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8367130508394867206.post-51124226055923604142010-07-04T16:41:02.016+10:002010-07-04T16:41:02.016+10:00This comment has been removed by the author.vincenthawkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16265354499497279874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8367130508394867206.post-11025795481178566942010-07-03T19:23:31.888+10:002010-07-03T19:23:31.888+10:00I found out about Douglas Witmer on Steven Alexand...I found out about Douglas Witmer on Steven Alexander's blog, and was immediately strongly drawn to his work. I agree with you that his statement is strong and meaningful, also for me whose imagery is based on actual things. I also feel that the process of making a painting, my involvement with paint, surface, structure, is why I make art now.
thanks for posting this.Altoon Sultanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16743040814034732581noreply@blogger.com
